Here’s the press release:

During these troubling economic times, truckers are finding more reasons to buy and sell their trucks and trailers and to look for great prices on parts. TruckerToTrucker.com has emerged as America’s leading superstore for truckers and fleet owners who need to buy trucks and sell used trucks and dump trucks as well as purchase parts and supplies in a new report issued today by the company.

“Business is booming compared to last year,” said Jim McCormack, president of TruckerToTrucker.com, which will celebrate its seventh anniversary in December. “A lot of truckers are selling their rigs and we are picking up new dealers. Dealers are finding us to be great alternatives to expensive newspapers.”

By offering more value-added services and charging less for ads, TruckerToTrucker.com has built a loyal following.

nfl store

sex toys for sale
nike air max 270 sale
adidas factory outlet
nike air max sale
nike air max 90

“We are a low-cost solution for people to sell vs. the papers,” continued McCormack. “Papers are very expensive. We do have a low ad price. It is only $19.95 and it is a one-time charge. People are always remarking, ‘Oh, what a bargain.’ With the economy bad like it is, people want to save money.”

Over last year, website traffic is up 25 percent based on unique visits. Listings are up 30 percent over last year, with 8,000 current listings for trucks and trailers. All sales are negotiated between the buyer and the seller.

Inventory is also moving faster than last year, with a 30-day average sell date compared to 60 days for last year, McCormack said.

“The prices are going up pretty fast here because none of the fleets have been buying trucks for the past three years. That’s putting a lot of demand in the late-model used market,” he said.

TruckerToTrucker.com has grown so quickly because it offers more services than competitors. For example, TruckerToTrucker.com:

* Has a better ad layout so vehicles are displayed properly with key information easy to find.
* Provides an easier navigation system for buyers to find the vehicle that is right for them fast.
* Helps write ads so customers get the best possible ad to promote their vehicle.

Unlike competitors, TruckerToTrucker.com offers one, all-inclusive fee for:

* 20 photos for each vehicle so buyers won’t wonder if anything is being left out.
* Links to YouTube videos so buyers can see the truck in action.
* Links to slide shows that can be sent via email so buyers can have all the information they need to make the buying decision.

Competitors either don’t offer these features, or they charge extra for them, McCormack said.

The company also offers additional services, including:

* Creating websites for truck dealers with a staff that understands the industry.
* Writing and producing newsletters for truck dealers who lack the time and expertise to do so themselves.

Owner operators can take advantage of special rates that TruckerToTrucker.com has negotiated with truck financing companies and commercial insurance companies.

The website has additional features, including a financing calculator so truckers can see how much a truck will actually cost and get their questions answered about truck financing and semi truck financing.

A blog offers useful information about the industry and products.

About TruckerToTrucker.com

Started in December of 2003, TruckerToTrucker.com’s mission is to give people a low-cost option to buy and sell equipment on the Internet.

“We saw an opportunity because there weren’t any low-cost providers,” McCormack said.

McCormack has a 25-year history in the food service industry, before becoming a web developer in 1998. He got the inspiration to start TruckerToTrucker.com after he made a website for a friend who sold semi-trailers.

Here’s the story from fredricksburg.com:

A tow truck driver with Anytime Towing in Ladysmith was honored tonight with the Life Saving Award for his heroic actions that saved two lives on Halloween morning.

Sheriff Tony Lippa presented T.K. Loving, 36, of Hanover, with the award during a dinner at Timbers Restaurant.

Sheriff Tony Lippa and Major Scott Moser present T.K. Loving with the Life Saver Award Wednesday night.

Lippa, who said he is a former tow truck driver, said he knows the dangers of that job and thanked Loving for his heroic actions that not only saved his own life, but the life of someone else.

Loving was responding to a AAA call around 4:3o a.m. on Oct. 31 to tow a vehicle that had broken down on I-95, halfway between the Ladysmith and Thornburg exits.

That’s when a vehicle drove off the main road and struck Loving and the customer he was helping as they stood on the northbound shoulder.

The crash left Loving and Robyn Silcox, 20, of Stafford with serious injuries. The driver of the vehicle drove off.

Silcox, a 2008 Stafford High School graduate and a junior at Old Dominion University, is recovering from serious injuries to her hand and arm and has more surgery planned.

She credited Loving with spotting the oncoming vehicle before it hit them, managing to mostly push her out of its path and saving her life.

In an earlier interview with the Free Lance-Star, Loving said he reacted as anyone would, and gave the credit to the rumble strips.

“I heard the rumble strips. The rumble strips pretty much saved me and her,” Loving said.

When he heard tires crossing over the strips, embedded in the pavement to alert drivers they are straying from the road, “I looked up, saw headlights, and grabbed her,” Loving said.

The impact shattered Loving’s right ankle and tore his Achilles tendon. He is not allowed to put any weight on his foot, and is using crutches. He will need surgery and physical therapy.

Loving has been a tow- truck driver for Anytime Towing for three years, and said most of his work is on I-95. Until that day, he’d never had a close call with passing traffic.

When he responded to Silcox’s call, Loving said he parked his tow truck on the grass, putting the entire northbound shoulder between him and the right travel lane of I-95.

“It’s not like I was close,” Loving said.

He suspects the driver may have mistaken the shoulder for a travel lane.

Loving will receive worker’s compensation for a portion of his salary, but said he could be out of work for six months. Loving’s wife is a stay-at-home mother to their four children, including a 4-month-old.

“It’s going to be a struggle. I’ll have to figure something out,” Loving said.

The driver of the dark blue 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt or Pontiac G5 fled the scene without stopping, and has yet to be located.

Anyone with information about the crash or vehicle is asked to call the Virginia State Police Area 44 Office in Caroline County at 804/633-6799 or e-mail the office at area44@vsp.virginia.gov.

We hope Matt Stuart of Retriever Towing recovers quickly! Here’s the story from KGW.com:

PORTLAND — A tow truck operator was injured after he was hit by a man who was trying to illegally retrieve his car from a tow yard Tuesday night, police said.
“We’d really like to have some help from the public in finding this guy,” said Gary Coe, owner of Retriever Towing.
Once caught, the suspect will be charged with vehicular assault. The suspect’s vehicle was described as a black Subaru Outback Impreza. It has a California license plate 5TIC397.
It happened at approximately 5 p.m. at Retriever Towing’s property in NW Portland. Coe said the man showed up to get his car after it was towed from a parking lot near MLK and Washington earlier in the day.
“He asked how much the car was,” said employee Chris Jones. ”I explained it to him how much it was.”
Jones said the man realized he was short about $20. He then darted onto the lot and jumped in his car.
Surveillance photos: Suspect in impound lot
“He proceeded to go ahead, rev up his engine and start his car, and went towards the gate,” said Jones.
Jones tried to stop the man. He was joined by his co-worker, Matt Stuart.
“Eventually I was able to get out of his way as he went through our gate,” said Jones. ”Matt was pinned between the car and the gate and he fell backwards and hit his head on the asphalt behind him.”
Jones said the man raced off the lot and drove away as Stuart laid on the ground, bleeding from his head.
Photos: Injured tow truck operator
“It was pretty disturbing to see my co-worker looking up at me with a glossy-eyed look in his face and seeing the blood underneath his head.”
“There’s no sense in getting foul,” said Coe. ”I just hope we can find the person and bring him to justice.”
Fortunately, Stuart will be okay. He was released from Good Samaritan Hospital at around 8 p.m. and is at home recovering.
Stuart told KGW Wednesday that he is sore but thankful to be alive. He said he was anxious for the man who hit him to be captured.
Anyone with information that may help investigators was urged to call Portland police.

In The Ditch Towing Products, a leader in quality towing equipment in the towing industry is announcing the release of its new Traveling Speed® Chock. Here are some additional key points to consider:

• You can set the Chock up to work from Passenger or Driver Side of the truck.

The International Towing & Recovery Hall of Fame & Museum is proud to announce its newest exhibit to the museum – your business! Just provide a DVD about your business or organization and it will be played during the museum’s operating hours. This program is reserved for museum members only.

Viewing times may vary according to the level of participation and the museum is not able to guarantee days that features will play. However, the ITRHFM will provide at least 30 days of exposure throughout the year. The fee is $150.

This new program has a dual benefit: participating organizations are featured to museum visitors and the support allows the museum to continue to grow and expand. With 2011 being the “kick-off’ year, the ITRHFM is also offering a limited viewing time during the 2011 Induction weekend at no additional cost. This is only a one time offer and will not be repeated in 2012. The set “annual” calendar for these DVDs will be from September to September every year hereafter.

If organizations are not able to produce their own DVD, the museum will be happy to help. Pictures can be emailed to the museum and the staff will create the DVD. The fee is based on the number of pictures submitted and all submissions will be reviewed and edited by the museum for inclusion on the DVD. The cost is $50 for up to 50 images; $75 for 51 to 75 images; $100 for 79 to 100 images.

The cost includes at least two advertising slides, as long as complete company information is provided along with a company logo. All pictures should be submitted via e-mail. If the organization is not able to provide scanned photos, the museum is able to help at no charge.

Collector’s Edition DVD. The International Towing & Recovery Hall of Fame & Museum is proud to announce a new “exhibit” to the museum – a DVD that will be a “collection” of the best of the best tow trucks throughout the world. The DVD will be played during the museum’s operating hours and a limited number of copies will be available in the museum gift shop for sale. The retail price will be $20 per DVD.

Though participation is not limited to just museum members, purchasing a membership is requested. For inclusion on the DVD, the cost for non-museum members is $10 per photo; the cost for museum members is $5 per photo.

All submissions must be made no later than Aug. 15, 2011. All photos that are submitted will be reviewed and accepted by ITRHFM before being published.

All submissions must be made directly via e-mail to internationaltowingmuseum@comcast.net and accompanied by a signed release form by the organization submitting the picture authorizing ITRHFM to use the picture at their discretion.

For more information on either the Collector’s Edition DVD or the “Spotlight” program, contact the Intemational Towing & Recovery Hall of Fame & Museum by phone 423-267-3132, fax 423-267-0867, email to internationaltowingmuseum@comcast.net or by mail to 3315 Broad Street, Chattanooga, TN 37408. Utica tow driver struck, Cooperstown woman ticketed after Schoharie County accident

Unbelievable… another report of a tow truck operator being struck on the side of the road. Please watch out, people, and MOVE OVER! We hope that Austin Pruitt of Southside Towing makes a fast and full recovery!
Here’s the story from www.wktv.com:

SHARON, N.Y. (WKTV) – A tow driver from Utica was injured and a Cooperstown woman ticketed after an accident in Schoharie County on Wednesday [1/4/12] night.
According to Schoharie County Sheriff Tony Desmond, the driver, from Southside Towing on Whitesboro Street in Utica, was loading another vehicle onto his flatbed on Route 20 in the Town of Sharon, just outside of the village.
Sheriff Desmond said that the car being loaded onto the flatbed was then struck by, Elizabeth A. Salerno, 73, of Cooperstown. That car being loaded on the flatbed then struck the tow truck driver, Austin Pruitt, of Southside Towing in Utica. Salerno is then accused of leaving the scene.
Pruitt was taken to Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown via the Sharon Springs Rescue Squad, and was released from the hospital overnight.
Thursday afternoon, Pruitt’s co-workers at Southside Towing said he was “all right, but in a neck brace and in a lot of pain.”
According to Sheriff Desmond, Salerno was ticketed with leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, as well as for not moving over for a tow truck – a new law that took effect in the new year.
Salerno is scheduled to answer those charges in Sharon Town Court on January 18.
